 Arild
Vaktskjold is a Norwegian who is currently an assistant professor
at the Nordic School of Public Health in Gothenburg, Sweden.
He studied in California, receiving the B.S. degree in nutritional
science from the University of California, Berkeley and the
MPH from Loma Linda University. He received the Dr.Sci degree
from the University of Tromsø in Norway. Much of his
research and health project work has been carried out in Northwest
Russia, including establishing registries of birth and cancer
and studying pregnancy outcomes associated with nickel exposure.
At the Nordic School of Public Health he is responsible for
two of the modules in the new Master of Public Health programme
in Arkhangelsk, Russia. He is also involved in the AMAP Human
Health Group and a board member in the International Union of
Public Health.
